From the power of <em>adhkar<\/em> to the importance of preparing for Ramadan like the Prophet (s.a.w.), here are the <strong>key takeaways<\/strong> from the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-bfcffbf3\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The Power of Adhkar and Dhikr<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Shaykh Abu Bakr Zoud emphasised that the most rewarded of those who fast is the one who <strong>remembers Allah (s.w.t.) <\/strong>the most. There is also a <em>hadith<\/em> that highlights that the most pleasing deed you can do is <em>dhikr<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>It was narrated from Abu Darda that the Prophet (s.a.w.) said:<\/em><br><em>&#8220;Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds, the most pleasing to your sovereign, those that raise you most in status, that are better than your gold and silver, or meeting your enemy (in battle) and you strike their necks, and they strike your necks?&#8221; They said, &#8220;What is that, O Messenger of Allah?&#8221; He said, &#8220;Remembering Allah (Dhikr).&#8221;<\/em><br><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sunnah.com\/ibnmajah:3790\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">(Sunan Ibn Majah 3790)<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This shows us that fasting alone isn\u2019t enough. What truly elevates our worship is constant remembrance of Allah (s.w.t.) which is <em>dhikr<\/em>. The more we engage in <em>dhikr<\/em>, the greater our rewards will be, in both this life and the afterlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-fc435c28\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>Morning and Evening <em>Adhkar<\/em>: A Shield of Protection<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) taught us the importance of morning and evening <em>adhkar<\/em>, which serve as a spiritual shield, protecting us from harm, evil, and corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When is the best time for us to perform <em>adhkar<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fe896c0d7d71b1398725b9544d588868\"><strong>Morning <em>adhkar<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After Fajr, preferably after completing the Subuh prayer, until sunrise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ac6be6d8c1daaea10901cb6daa0d42a2\"><strong>Evening <em>adhkar<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After \u2018Asr, ideally before Maghrib, but can be extended until the first third of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key to effective <em>dhikr<\/em> is not just reciting with the tongue but engaging the heart and mind. The highest level of <em>dhikr<\/em> is when you understand and internalise its meaning while saying it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) promised that whoever recites the morning and evening <em>adhkar<\/em> with sincerity will be free from Jahannam, receive Allah\u2019s (s.w.t.) protection, and be among the closest to the Prophet (s.a.w.) in the <em>akhirah<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-3f91aaa6\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>How the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) Prepared for Ramadan<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet (s.a.w.) was the greatest worshipper of Allah, and his approach to Ramadan is the ultimate guide for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5b554da8050b1732cb92fe824545f892\"><strong>Fasting in Sha\u2019ban<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet (s.a.w.) was known to fast more in Sha\u2019ban than in any other month besides Ramadan. Here\u2019s why:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The month Sha\u2019ban is when our deeds are raised to Allah (s.w.t.) for the year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As preparation for Ramadan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s a month of heedlessness, in which the act of worship is highly encouraged<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8a1a5a0e37d48032e2093d91332f6f14\"><strong>Confirming the Sighting of the Moon<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet (s.a.w.) never started Ramadan until the moon was visibly sighted. If there was no sighting, he (s.a.w.) completed 30 days of Sha\u2019ban before beginning Ramadan. This teaches us that establishing Ramadan and \u2018Eid is a communal effort instead of an individual one. The Prophet (s.a.w.) would make <em>du\u2019a\u2019<\/em> upon seeing the new moon, a <em>sunnah<\/em> we should revive today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d734a590bfa9d5b6218ad6c6eff32952\"><strong>Welcoming Ramadan with Celebration<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days before Ramadan, the Prophet (s.a.w.) would gather his companions and congratulate them on the arrival of the blessed month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of seeing Ramadan as a burden, we should <strong>celebrate its arrival <\/strong>and make the most of its multiplied rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-e29bf166\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The Unique Rewards of Ramadan<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-81813463e1ee4a0f0110eca796f7fd55\"><strong>The Gates of Jannah Are Open<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet (s.a.w.) taught that during Ramadan, the gates of Jannah are flung open, and the gates of Jahannam are shut. This is a special mercy from Allah (s.w.t.), giving us a golden opportunity to seek forgiveness for our past sins, renew our connection with Allah (s.w.t.) and increase in obedience and righteousness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-08126a9dab8e657fbb828113737f38b4\"><strong>The Qur\u2019an: The Best Companion in Ramadan<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet (s.a.w.) lived with the Qur\u2019an in Ramadan. He didn\u2019t just read it; instead, he deeply <strong>reflected on its meanings<\/strong> and <strong>applied its teachings.<\/strong> Ramadan is the month of the Qur\u2019an, and if we want to make the most of it, we should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Read the Qur\u2019an daily<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand its meaning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply its guidance in our lives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-3dc554d9\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>Following the Sunnah for Maximum Rewards<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-45779a61cd4e3c0343b5c313ea7980d2\">The key takeaway from Shaykh Abu Bakr Zoud\u2019s talk was clear\u2014<strong><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-0-color\">to maximise the rewards of Ramadan, we must follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.).<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the summarised main points from the talk:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remember Allah (s.w.t.) frequently through <em>dhikr<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare for Ramadan as the Prophet (s.a.w.) did<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welcome the month with excitement and gratitude<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase worship, especially in Qur\u2019an recitation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>May Allah (s.w.t.) grant us the ability to implement these <em>sunnahs<\/em> and make this Ramadan the most rewarding one yet. <em>Amin!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope that this sharing brings you great benefits and <em>barakah<\/em>, especially for this Ramadan.
