It was a much-needed conversation about a silent but growing crisis within our <em>ummah<\/em>: pornography addiction and its impact on our hearts, minds, and connection with Allah (s.w.t.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-dcb9ea58\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The Crisis No One Talks About<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The statistics are deeply concerning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>81%<\/strong> of Malaysian youth between 18-30 have been intentionally exposed to porn.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>75%<\/strong> of Malaysian teenagers have watched it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Malaysia ranks <strong>#1 in Asia<\/strong> and <strong>#4 globally<\/strong> for visits to adult websites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of those who watched adult videos knew that it was wrong and wanted to quit. However, <strong>many suffer silently<\/strong>. They were weighed down by guilt, shame, and fear. Some are afraid they will be judged, rejected, or labelled a hypocrite. Shaykh Wael reminded us clearly: struggling doesn\u2019t make you a hypocrite. It means you are still fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-54ac8c74\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The Eyes, The Heart &amp; The Soul<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In Islam, the heart is the spiritual engine of the body. When the eyes consume harmful content, the heart becomes clouded. Over time, this affects your connection with Allah (s.w.t.). You will feel distant, heavy, and lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-border-color\" guard their chastity.<\/strong> That is purer for them. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what they do. (30) <strong>And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments except what normally appears.<\/strong> Let them draw their veils over their chests and not reveal their hidden adornments except to their husbands, their fathers, their fathers-in-law, their sons, their stepsons, their brothers, their brothers\u2019 sons or sisters\u2019 sons, their fellow women, those bondwomen in their possession, male attendants with no desire, or children who are still unaware of women\u2019s nakedness. Let them not stomp their feet, drawing attention to their hidden adornments. <strong>Turn to Allah in repentance all together, O believers, so that you may be successful.<\/strong> (31)<br><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/ms\/24?startingVerse=30\" title=\"\">(Surah An-Nur, 24:30-31)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shaykh Wael emphasised that the media we consume today isn\u2019t neutral. It shapes our values, erodes our <em>fitrah<\/em>, and weakens our spiritual resolve. But there\u2019s hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-73aced0d\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>Healing is Possible. And It Starts with <em>Tawbah<\/em>.<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>True repentance isn\u2019t just crying after a sin. It means <strong>turning back to Allah (s.w.t.) with a clear purpose.<\/strong> It means planning, changing your environment and knowing your triggers. It means walking away from sin and towards your authentic self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-f0373e63\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The 3 R\u2019s of Recovery<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Shaykh Wael shared a practical framework for breaking free:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Routine<\/strong> \u2013 Structure your day. An addicted mind thrives on chaos. Healing thrives on discipline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rewiring<\/strong> \u2013 Avoid triggers and practise <em>sabr<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Repentance<\/strong> \u2013 Sincere <em>tawbah<\/em> with a real plan to never go back.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And most importantly, protect your environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No internet devices in bedrooms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set limits on screen time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create homes filled with iman and connection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-d7f09530\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The Path Forward: A Pure Heart Meets A Clear Gaze<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Islam encourages us to guard our eyes, preserve our hearts, and protect our minds.<\/strong> This is not to restrict us but to free us from what dims our soul. Shaykh Wael reminded us that desire is not evil, but it is a test. And that test can lead to great reward when channelled the right way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Let\u2019s take the steps toward healing together. One gaze. One habit.
