The Qur’an is the last book of revelation that Allah (s.w.t.) revealed to humanity and is regarded as the greatest miracle in Islamic history. Modern science has verified that the Qur’an contains knowledge that was unknown at the time of its revelation. This has led many to conclude that the Qur’an is a divine revelation rather than the result of human intelligence.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Qur’an is its ability to address the complexities of the human experience. It offers answers to life’s most important questions: Who are we? What is our purpose? How should we live our lives? The Qur’an encourages followers to live a life of seeking knowledge and the truth about everything.

And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will be mindful?
(Surah Al-Qamar, 54:17)

This verse encourages everyone to interact with and ponder the knowledge of the Qur’an by highlighting how accessible its teachings are. The Qur’an continues to be a living miracle that guides and inspires millions of people worldwide, and its preservation is evidence of its divine origin. 

Hence, let’s do our part by preserving the purity of the Qur’an. Here are some tips on how to preserve the purity of the Qur’an:

• Approach the Qur’an with admiration and respect. 

Approach the Qur’an with the right intention, which is to learn the teachings of the Qur’an and apply them in your daily life.

• Take time to read and understand the Qur’an. 

Do not rush when you’re reading the Qur’an. Take time to ensure you’re reading with the correct pronunciation and tajweed. Better yet, open the Qur’an’s translation to learn and reflect on the meaning of each verse you’re reading. 

• Focus when reciting the Qur’an.

Make sure that there’s no distraction around you when you’re reading the Qur’an. Consider this an intimate time where you’re communicating with Allah (s.w.t). 

• Perform ‘wudu’ (ablution).

The Qur’an is not just another book; it is the word of Allah (s.w.t.). Thus, making sure that you are clean before you interact and communicate with Him should be a priority. 

Preserving the purity of the Qur’an can also be done by memorising and continuous recitation of it. In addition, shielding the Qur’an from misunderstanding and misrepresentation is another way to maintain its purity. To ensure that the meanings of the Qur’an are understood in the context of its revelation and in accordance with the sunnah, or the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), Islamic scholarship has established rigorous methodology for interpreting the Qur’an. The Qur’an has been studied by scholars for centuries, and they have compiled extensive tafsir that protects against misunderstanding while offering insight into its contents.

The Qur’an’s miraculous nature is demonstrated by the effects it has had on people and societies. It transforms hearts, reforms societies, and provides solutions to problems in every era. The Qur’an’s divine origin is demonstrated by its everlasting relevance and its ability to meet the needs of all people, regardless of time or place.
